The last few days I’ve been running into different people who keep happily exclaiming”I love your blog!” Now, let it be known that I am AWFUL at receiving compliments – very, very bad. Self deprecation immediately flows out of my mouth as I back away most of the time someone says something nice to me about myself.

But I’ve been noticing something lately. Every time someone tells me they like the blog I smile and say “Thank you! I’m so excited!!” Now, maybe this doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it is.

First of all, no one HAS to say anything. But they do. They keep on telling me how excited they are for me and how interesting it is to read. It’s amazing to feel so many people caring about what I’m doing and SUPER fantastic to receive so much support in a not-so-normal endeavor. And second, no one HAS to read it – but they are. You are. People mention things they liked, stories that made them laugh, or situations they connect with for their own personal experiences. And I think that’s amazing.

I’m settling in to the house, slowly but surely. I’m really excited to be starting such a big adventure and feel so very lucky to have so many people rooting for me. In fact, I was happy to see this sunset tonight as I watered my roses in the front yard.

I met with a friend today for lunch that is on almost the same time line I’ll be on and we talked about her experiences as well as mine so far. She’s been through these sorts of things before, so she’s way ahead of me on all of it, and I feel so lucky to have someone smack in the middle of the same situation so close by and willing to talk freely with me.

I saw a friend tonight that has known me through two marriages and more than 10 years. He seemed excited for me. He said “well, yeah. I mean, you’ve been working up to this for years! You’ll be great at it!”

I feel lucky to have so many people so excited for me and I can hardly wait to really get the ball rolling!
