Monday was my birthday – 10/10. I turned 35, which now puts me into the Advanced Maternal Age category with this baby, but whatever.
Normally birthdays aren’t a big deal for me, but this year I was impressed with how many people were excited for me. I am lucky to have so many people in my life who care about me. Mostly my birthday ended up being about CARBS the Day Of – I brought bagels from Panera to work, a co-worker got me a cookie cake (yum) and I had a friend at the gym pick up a SECOND cookie cake and bring it by to share with my Crossfit buddies.

I also went out to dinner with some of my closest friends and my mom and just finished leftovers.
But the most fun was Saturday when my friend, birth coach, fellow mom and mom-to-be went to help me do some registering. She had heard good things about Buy Buy Baby, so we trekked up to Knoxville and wandered the aisles for a long afternoon. Thankfully she was exactly what I needed – telling me what she thought was worth signing up for and what wasn’t. We went by a Target afterwards and signed up there as well.

We had fun and by Sunday I was totally beat. My mom had given me some birthday cash and I happily spent it on a super cute Very Hungry Caterpillar themed play mat and light for kiddo.
Overall, a great weekend and a good birthday. I’ll find out baby gender soon so I can start picking out more specific stuff – neutral is hard to find! Mostly I know that green will be a big color either way. Theme: green things that are functional. Sounds good, right?
