High Risk Etc

My doctor recently told me that each week things look okay, she and the high risk doctors will be less and less concerned. This week, I saw the same high risk doctor that saw me at 28 weeks – the one who had me pretty freaked out, told me to drink two protein shakes a day and had a lot of concern. His ultrasound tech was training someone, or so it appeared, and they had some trouble getting fluid numbers along with any frame-worthy ultrasound photos.

She is apparently still breech and in a forward fold position with her feet above her head, so this photo of two little feet was what they handed me. The fluid numbers looked low, and I worried as I sat waiting on the doctor to come in and be panicked.

The 5 minutes he spent with me felt totally different than the first visit – he looked at the ultrasound, said “oh she’s breathing up a storm, so she’s happy!” He nodded, looking at the numbers, and said “she’s got about the same amount of fluid as before, and she’s gained weight, so we’re good.” I nodded and said “well, I know she’s small…” He shrugged, like no big deal, and said “well, she’s making progress and that’s all we want to see, so see ya next week!” And that was it. He was on his way.

In general, things seem to be going well from my perspective. I feel her bouncing around most of the day, I’m gaining weight (first time I ever thought I’d find that comforting) and feeling fine. I’m for SURE “looking” pregnant:

And had my second baby shower this weekend. My gym friends were super sweet to show up and my buddy Cara did an excellent job of coordinating it. Here’s a sneak preview of my favorite gift that I received, along with my first attempt using it:

Marvin is a big fan of the Ergo Baby Carrier. Hopefully Ember will like it, too.
