News from the NICU was that Ember came off her IV fluids at 10am and was eating well all day! I was able to send up a pretty good amount of milk to her, and am getting pretty comfy being milked like a cow – moooo.
We had a much calmer day today with help from the Godparents as Kathryn visited with John and then took over the night shift with me as we moved out of our original room to be next to the NICU while Ember came back to stay while keeping her monitors on.

Kevin bid kiddo farewell as he heads back to work tomorrow and his mom came by with the cutest gift she’d made – the woman works fast!

Between myself and the formula, Ember is working her way up on food taken in and we’re hoping to be released into the wild tomorrow afternoon or evening. On one hand, not having a staff to help will be hard, but my mom will be my right hand for the next week (and my left, honestly) and between the two of us I think we might be okay. It will also be nice to not be visited by a team of people every hour and to have kiddo unhooked from all the myriad of monitors which go beep all the time.
Meanwhile, we so appreciate all of our visitors. Check out one of the floral arrangements that we got – thanks to Uncle Matt and Aunt Katherine for these gorgeous blooms! Everyone was jealous.
