Ember’s first Easter was a quiet one. Aunt Danese and Uncle Seth came to bring a delicious Easter feast around lunch time. We had a great visit and then I promptly went and fell asleep for almost two hours. For what it’s worth, I HAD gotten up, showered and gotten myself into a dress beforehand on top of doing Baby Things all morning.
After family cleared out, Gigi was super helpful and wandered around the house cleaning up, doing laundry, etc while I napped. I woke up to her vacuuming and Ember sleeping peacefully through it. I laughed when I walked out and said “are you vacuuming the baby?”
We split the shifts better Sunday night and I am currently writing this from the amazing world of having slept almost six hours straight – it’s a blessing.
Monday we go see Dr Katie for our first check up. When I was in the hospital, one of the many things I was supposed to do was call and make an appointment for her two day check in with her pediatrician. I smiled and nodded when told and then promptly forgot until midnight on Friday. Ahhh oops. Then I was taking to a friend about visiting and realized “oh no the appointment!” I had been reassured, however, that they would squeeze her in whenever I called.
All that to be said, this amazing photo was captured yesterday of an adorable Easter Bunny (hat provided by Aunt Kathryn and Uncle John) who was caught in the wild.
But, of course, there were about ten like this before we got that one:
Her annoyance and disappointment with us was palpable and in response, Gigi and I laughed so hard I thought we might fall over.
Happy Easter everyone!
