2 Weeks Old

Today Ember is 2 weeks old, which means we all packed up and had a big adventure to see the doctor – everyone had an appointment.

The big weigh in was great news – she’s not only back up to birth weight (6lbs), she’s above it! Weighing in at 6lbs 4oz, Ember got rave reviews from her pediatrician. I laughed and said we definitely knew how to eat at my house.

After that, I had an appointment with my doctor to check in on how I was doing. All the nurses were so excited to see kiddo that they happily took her out of her car seat and absconded with her out of the room while we waited. When they finally brought her back in, my doctor ended up holding her almost the entire visit. I guess it’s lame for them to spend so much time with the moms and then never get to see the babies since the kids all end up seeing the pediatrician. I was happy to let them visit with her. She was very popular.

All went well and I’ve been cleared to do light exercise over the next two to four weeks so I’ll be working on walks with the stroller and paying attention to not getting too tired as I ease back in. No, CrossFit friends, she was not into me coming back yet to work out, but I will visit soon!

Speaking of tired, by the time we were done with all of our appointments, someone was tuckered out.

We grabbed lunch and went by to visit my dad for a minute as well. He was glad to see us – but mostly Ember.

Also, I saw this over the past few days and just loved it so I thought I’d share. Although I’m not bursting into tears all the time anymore, it still comes and goes. I hear that’s how it’ll always be and I’m fine with that. I’m getting better at having Big Feelings.
