1 Month-Ish

I’m not going to keep up with how many weeks old this tiny baby is. People do that thing where you ask how old their kid is and they go “oh she’s 58 weeks old.” Being pregnant and trying to deal with week/month math was hard enough to deal with. Ember is now at least one month old but not yet two months, so I’ll refer to her as 1 Month-Ish.

Nothing too exciting happening here this week for us. We’re getting the hang of life on a daily basis – she’s outgrowing her Newborn size clothes and moving into 0-3 month items – which, of course, vary wildly by brand. Some items fit her perfectly while others gape in weird places. Ember is also working on her spit up skills, which means we do lots of laundry and get to change oufits often. She’s happily gaining weight, though, and while she returns some percentage of her food, she always seems perfectly happy after it happens. So we aren’t worried. Here’s a great photo of her waving to her adoring fans while also looking a little weary – because being my child is kind of a struggle.

Generally, we’re still going with the 90% great 10% insane grade of working together (or at least, that’s the grade I’m giving it – she doesn’t get to vote yet). That’s an A in my book, so I feel pretty good about it.

A not-at-all-scientific process we do here and there is hop on the scale together to see how much she weighs. Today the difference between my weight on the scale alone (179.8) and with her (188.8) implied that this Tiny Baby was suddenly 9lbs!! We aren’t so sure about that, but I am glad to say that the majority of the weight I gained is gone, so that’s good. I know I was heavier this evening than this morning, so maybe that goes for Tiny Babies too – either way, she’s getting bigger for sure!
