Ember went to see Dr Katie this week for her 6 month appointment – a little late, but with Dr Katie having been out of the office on maternity leave and us off to the beach, that’s how it worked out. 

The big news is that Ember is 15lbs and 14oz and 26.25 inches long. That is a big jump from her 4 month appointment and explains some of her constant eating we’ve seen lately. She’s a happy baby and doing great. She got her shots (and a flu shot) and although she had a rough time at the office, when she went home with Kevin for the rest of the day after some long naps, she was fine. 

In general, Ember loves to stand and play in her jumperoo. She doesn’t have much interest in being on her tummy or crawling yet, but we wouldn’t be shocked if she went straight to walking.

She’s trying new foods – so far she’s a fan of carrots and squash, tolerates green beans and as of tonight also likes corn.

She’s also started blowing raspberries for fun (but never on demand), laughing lots and using her hands to grab things and smack everything.

Her favorite toys are ones she can stand up in, including this car we got from our awesome neighbors.

Although she mostly goes backwards in it, she thinks it’s hilarious. We agree.

Daycare continues to go well for her and she’s sleeping like a champ most nights from 9pm-6am. We’re having a blast and can’t wait to go trick or treating with our friends on the mountain this week for her first Halloween.
