Ember had a quiet birthday on Thursday with a celebration at school and a small cake with Gigi, mom, and dad.

She’s her mom’s baby, alright. We love those salty snacks (see the Cheeto?).

At school, she wasn’t a fan of the Krispy Kreme donuts we brought to share with friends. At home, she wasn’t a fan of the icing on her tiny cake but enjoyed the cake itself.

She’s been doing a lot more talking and pointing (baby’s #1!) lately and has been having an absolute blast on the swings at school now that it’s spring!

She’s a happy girl and today we had a few close friends over for a birthday celebration. We wish we could have invited more friends – she’s got so MANY people who love her!!

She had her birthday cake and although she was originally a little hesitant, she dug right in.

In fact, she was very affronted when it was time to go get cleaned up!

We are amazed at how quickly this past year has gone by. On one hand, we can’t believe she’s already one year old and on the other, we can’t imagine life without her.

Happy birthday, Ember Walker Rose. You’re the best thing to ever happen to me.
