Although I don’t plan to keep this blog updated as often as during her first year, we’ve had a busy few weeks since Ember turned one!
Most recently, Kevin and I went out of town for a weekend – my first trip away from Ember overnight! We had a great time and so did she.

We spent the weekend in a cabin in North Carolina and she spent the weekend having a blast – between the aquarium, carousel ride, and zoo she was all adventure with her friend Rachel.

We’ve also been taking walks after work now that weather is nice and we are so glad to be in such a great neighborhood for them!

I am excited to announce that after 7 years at my current job, I’ve accepted a position at Ember’s school as the Accounting Coordinator and I couldn’t be happier. It will be great to work for such an awesome non profit and I can’t explain how happy I am to be in the same building with her daily. Luckily, I’ve got a week between the two jobs where I will do fun things like unpack the house (still).
This morning, after 5 ear infections in the past 5 months, Ember got tubes put in. She was a total trooper (far less concerned than Dad or Mom) and has had a great day today since. We can only hope this will make a huge difference for her (and us!).
