This week I started working as the Accounting Coordinator at Ember’s school and it’s going to be fantastic! She’s recently been very clingy with me and gets super cranky if I leave her, so although I’m in the same building, I haven’t been going by her room to visit much (plus I’m crazy busy!) to avoid upsetting her when I have to leave. But my office window DOES look out onto one of the playgrounds that she gets to visit sometimes, so I can peek out the blinds and see her. Very sneaky. While I am super excited about being there with her, she’s not so sure yet about my encroaching on her territory.

We’re still taking late afternoon walks after work and on weekends and we love them.

Ember’s newest trick came to us when she was visiting with Mamaw and Granddaddy. When we came to pick her up they said “wow she’s really doing a great job on climbing stairs!” And we said “…. What?” So this little bit had spent her evening sitting at the bottom of their staircase, pondering it for a while, and then just started climbing right up! Kevin’s parents ASSUMED that we’d been letting her practice at home on our half stairs, but this was ALL news to us!

Now she happily scales the stairs at home before bed as often as we let her.

And she’s off!!

Everyone’s excited about summer coming up as well. We spent some time in the pool at the YMCA last weekend and hope to go back this weekend too!

We’re taking her with us next weekend to Asheville and can’t wait for another adventure.
