Today Kevin and I got married.

We had a small ceremony in the garden across the street from our home with my mother officiating. We invited only our immediate family and it was perfect. The day was beautiful, the weather was as good as can be expected (no rain, very humid) and the reception afterwards at our house with a pot luck brunch was delicious. The best part, aside from the getting married part and the spending time with family part, was that everyone arrived at 11am and by 2pm we were alone in the house, getting ready to take a nap. It was just perfect.

We are headed to Germany on a honeymoon later this month, and then are having a reception in October when we get home. We are so very appreciative of our family and friends being happy for us.

As toddlers do, Ember is very busy lately having adventures. Most recently, she adventured herself into a huge bruise on her cheek – just in time for the wedding. So she got a little makeup today too!

She is doing great in school – she just moved to her new classroom and is adjusting well. She loves to play on the big kid playground – especially the swing and slides!

Lucky for me, being at work there means sometimes I can join her on the playground for recess.

We’re all so happy and just couldn’t ask for life to be better. I feel like this is everything I’ve ever wanted and have spent my whole life up to this point working towards.

I couldn’t ask for anything more.
