Somehow I have a tiny baby who is now a regular sized toddler (70th percentile for height and 60th for weight!).
Ember’s birthday was on April 12th and we had a blast celebrating all last weekend.
Friday at school she wore her Pete the Cat dress and opened gifts from my sweet office mates.

Then we headed home to visit with family and have CAKE.

A small birthday followed Saturday with mom and dad and a trip to the zoo.

At the zoo we got to visit with our friend the alligator that we saw last year at Mother’s day and of course my phone just HAD to remind me of how big this little girl has gotten.

Sunday was our big birthday party with friends and OF COURSE another cake.

We had a Sesame Street theme for both get togethers, of course.

Ember loved getting to share her new swingset with friends and it made mom and dad feel much better about the purchase to see 6 kids having a blast at once!
Looking back at her last birthday and considering how much has happened this past year is wild.

Life is good. Ember is great with counting, colors and singing along to her favorite songs. She was a die hard fan of Wheels on the Bus but has now moved on to 5 Little Ducks and Old McDonald (E, I, O? She asks). She loves to color (especially with mah-kahs) and draws excellent circles. She stays very busy at school and LOVES all her classmates.

We also got to celebrate Easter this last week. The egg hunt at school was great fun.

And it got Ember all ready for hunting eggs at Gigi’s house on Easter Sunday.

We’ve been pretty busy lately living life and enjoying our time together as a family of 3. We are excited for our new addition but I struggle between wanting to savor every minute with Ember without having to split my attention and feeling the urge to get things ready for New Baby.
We are lucky to have this sweet little girl who is VERY excited to be a big sister. I think she will be great at it.
