30 Weeks

Today was our 30 week appointment to check in on baby Zora. Everything seems to be trucking right along as expected with a great heartbeat in the 140’s. I’m “measuring” right at 30 weeks and have gained about 9lbs total.

We are having another ultrasound at 32 weeks to check growth and decide if we will be checking in on Zora weekly or twice weekly between now and our planned C section date. We will find out more next time about estimated delivery dates, but I expect it to be early September (original due date 09/16).

Ember is still excited about being a Big Sister and will quickly grab my shirt and lift it up to show anyone who asks where baby Zora is “mommy’s tummy.”

Today Dr Mcclelland said it was very smart of us to have Kevin putting her to bed nightly – that it would make the transition much easier when I couldn’t be available all the time due to New Baby. She suggested we pack a gift from Baby Zora to Ember to be given at the hospital because “bribery can never start too early.”

I’ve been instructed to stop responding to every meltdown by “scooping up the toddler” and find new ways to comfort her since I’ll be a bit out of commission soon. So we will see how it goes.

Zora is moving around ALL the time and other people are starting to be able to see and feel it, which is neat and a big difference from the first time. It’s VERY weird to see a little person shifting around in there like a tiny alien.

All is well from here. I’m getting more and more obviously pregnant and the idea that we are actually having a tiny baby soon is still hard to grasp, but we are closer and closer to being as ready as we can be.

Here we go, here we go!
