Zora Wilder Harris arrived today at 11:21 am weighing 7lbs 4oz and almost 20″ tall.

Although our scheduled time was pushed back, everyone did a great job and everything turned out perfectly. Mom forgot exactly how uncomfortable a C section is, but Dad did an awesome job of watching over Zora and being encouraging while I suffered through. I also remind myself that “uncomfortable” is mild in relation to what most moms go through, so I don’t complain too much.
Gigi, Mamaw, Granddaddy, Mimi and Bapu were all on hand to meet the newest addition this afternoon around 2:00.
Ember got to come see her baby sister soon after and although she was disappointed that she couldn’t hold her (“not yet, Ember, she’s too little”) or climb into the bed with Mommy, she was still excited to meet her.

She was even more excited to have some birthday cake after we all sang Happy Birthday to Zora.

Everyone is doing well and and mom and dad are enjoying the silence of a new baby in the hospital before heading home to their wild toddler life later this week.

As expected, there is indeed plenty of room in a mother’s heart for yet another tiny baby. We are so lucky to have her and can’t wait to see what she is like!
