Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!! Ember was very excited to be a strawberry for her third and final year in this costume. I tried to find a costume for Zora that would compliment Ember’s and stumbled across The Very Hungry Caterpillar for newborn kiddos.

Gigi, Zora and mom came to school today to help Ember celebrate Halloween and go trick or treat around the building. She LOVED having her Gigi there and they had a blast while mom and Zora visited with friends.

After school, we all bundled up in the suddenly 40 degree weather to go trick or treat in the neighborhood!

Everyone had a great time – although our sweet toddler finally hit her limit of people telling her she couldn’t eat her Halloween candy by 7pm tonight. We ended our night with a nice warm bath and a fire in the fireplace along with some potato soup.

Zora and Mom go to school and work in just a couple of weeks. Luckily, I’ll be taking our transition slowly over the holiday season and will only be back at the office 3 days a week and Zora will be home with me the other two. She will be right upstairs in the room next to Ember’s the rest of the time, though, and I know it will be good for her.

I’m at that point where if I was going to keep staying home I would need to start a routine. But since I’m not, every day is a new adventure. Zora is doing great – sleeping well and eating well. She gets bigger every day. She’s starting to grow some very fuzzy hair all over her little head and I just can’t wait to see what color it is. Right now it looks like light brown (not visible in photo).

She’s a sweet baby who loves to snuggle up, in the carrier or just in your arms. We’ve taken a few walks on the nicer days and she’s enjoyed it. She’s also a great shopping companion in her carrier as well as a great lunch buddy in her car seat (mostly).

I’m excited to go back to having a daily schedule at least a few days a week and will plan to soak up my unplanned days at home with Zora.

We sent out a handful of birth announcement cards but if you missed one, I’ve posted them here.

I can’t believe that next week she will be two months old! Time flies when you’re awake every three hours!
