October November

Wow. Staying home and working and playing with the kids can really keep you busy enough to totally neglect to post a blog for the month.

We continue to stay close to home, have groceries delivered, and as the case counts skyrocket we have begun mid-November to close our doors more. We’ve had close calls a few times with COVID 19 but so far neither us nor our immediate family has gotten sick. We want to keep it that way as we move closer to seeing a widespread vaccine available and make decisions about what to do for our family. I have been out of the public since mid-March and only recently wore a mask to go to a toy store – the first time I’d been out and about without the kids in months and months. It’s a strange world right now, but being home with the girls has been such an amazing experience that I have to cherish it.

We DID have a no-contact Trick or Treat in our neighborhood this year and Ember had a blast. Zora was along for the ride but like most things, she seemed to enjoy it.

Ember had lots of costume plans this year and decided go be a pumpkin ballerina on the Friday before Halloween so she could be a skeleton, rainbow, kitty, fairy, unicorn ballerina on the big day. It’s a good thing we have so many dress up hand me downs!

We had our friends the Nelson’s go with us to trick or treat and the girls had a blast and got PLENTY of candy.

Most of our days are spent playing at home while mommy works and then taking a walk around the neighborhood.

Sometimes Ember walks and other times she rides her bicycle. Zora generally rides in the backpack because she enjoys the viewpoint and freedom.

Mamaw and Granddaddy visit every so often. Mamaw’s birthday visit on Halloween day meant the girls got to both ride their bikes on our walk.

Sometimes the girls will even get in the stroller together – where Ember loves to snuggle Zora. We’ve been enjoying the fall leaves as we head into Thanksgiving.

And we craft, and play and nap.

Every day is the same and different. Zora has started walking – at first only a step at a time but now she strings together 5 or 6 or more. She still crawls much faster than she walks, so she usually chooses that option.

We are having a blast seeing how much fun our little world can offer, right here in our home together.
