June – Back to School

I guess it’s weird that our kids are going BACK to school when everyone else gets OUT for the summer, but that’s just the way it’s worked out.

We had hoped both girls could return to school after the family beach trip, but due to renovations at their class rooms, Ember was able to return on the 8th but Zora’s first day back wasn’t until the 22nd.

Ember had been out of the classroom since March 13, 2020. A year and almost 3 months. She had ZERO issues transitioning back to the classroom and is even taking naps at school already. As an aside, she hadn’t taken a consistent nap at home since we let go of her paci in April. Good job, teachers!

She is excited to be back with her “best friend” Da’Myiah. They have a blast together daily.

Ember brought some of her dress up clothes to school and they all are fully costumed almost every day now.

Ember is on the BIG playground now and having a great time on the Big Girl Swings daily. She is also playing soccer once a week with CFC’s Operation Get Active at school.

She plays with friends and does crafts and even got to meet some very special ladies this week.

We are normally in school Tues-Thurs this summer, but yesterday was Water Day so I decided we shouldn’t miss it. I was glad she went an extra day and had a great time.

Zora has only been to school one month of her life – February of 2020. I was only slightly worried about her transition to school. She’s pretty independent and explores a lot on her own. Even though she cries each morning when I drop her off, she has been quick to recover and is having an absolute blast.

And they both love my office in the morning and getting snacks and time with friends after school each day.

We are finishing our summer ballet class at the end of June and have been spending our free days playing with friends and being together on our Sister Days (Monday and Friday) and our Family Days (Saturday and Sunday).
