I don’t like the term “nursery” for whatever reason, so I keep calling this the Guest Room (in my two bedroom house) but I suppose Ember’s Room is a better term. Also in use, Kiddo’s Room, Her Room, etc. 

People have asked what the “theme” or “color scheme” the Nursery is and my blank looks have been met with a little bit of confusion. I fall back on “uhh… Green?” Because that’s the color I painted my grandmother’s dresser which is now the changing table/dresser/only real piece of furniture I can point to other than an off-white crib.

My “style” is generally “oh, I like that bright colored thing, let me cram it in here next to all this other stuff I also liked.” 

And so I suppose that’s the “theme” of Ember’s Room – “stuff I like.” I’ve also been putting off trying to organize the place until I got the closet handled, which happily was completed this week by adding a wire shelving rack to make a 1950’s closet hole semi-functional. 

As I wander into my third trimester, I feel like I at LEAST have this semi-ready. It’s not perfect, it’s not entirely ready, but I’m almost positive it’ll do.
