Yard Sale, Rolling Over and Week Two of Daycare

Whew! This past weekend was the annual World’s Longest Yard Sale which happens to go right through the front yard at my house. We’ve been piling things all over the house for longer than I care to mention in preparation for this day. Like last year, our friends John and Ashley with Baby Gwen, Laura, and Katrina with Baby Davis came to join us and sell our trash to foolish strangers who wanted to not only take it away for us but also pay us money! Overall, our crew brought in $1,000 – $400 of which went for my junk and was happily deposited into Ember’s savings account. We had a little Baby Island in the morning before things really got rolling.

And speaking of rolling, kiddo rolled over last week at Mimi and Bapu’s house so now she’s out of the swaddle at nights which means more waking up, but that also means more going back to sleep.

She also moved out of her tiny pack n play into the bigger one we were gifted with recently. She’s still a happy baby 95% of the time and the best part of my day – even at 3am.

We went back to “school” today after a few in service days where she stayed with Mimi and Bapu and Kevin’s mom (and even had some one on one Daddy and baby time yesterday afternoon where he got to be Mr. Mom by changing his first diaper – and of COURSE it was a doozy – and they did great!). She loves daycare and has yet to act excited to see me when I pick her up or sad when I drop her off. She and Miss Victoria, who is in charge of the infant room, are best pals.

We are so lucky to have a great place for her to go! Week two at work is going much better than Week one – getting back into the swing of things is nice, but I’m still always surprised to see how MUCH I am ready to drop everything and go pick her up each day. Last week Gigi offered to go and get her and I thought I might cry – NO! I’m going to get her! I explained, in a panic. Ha ha ha. I’m sure I’ll get better at letting other people pick her up from school, but for now, it’s the highlight of my day for sure.
